Konstantinos N. Gyftakis was born in Patras, Greece, in May 1984. He received the Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Patras, Patras, Greece in 2010. He pursued a Ph.D in the same institution in the area of electrical machines condition monitoring and fault diagnosis (2010-2014). Then he worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant in the Dept. of Engineering Science, University of Oxford, UK (2014-2015). Between 2015-2018 he was appointed Lecturer on Electrical and Electronic Engineering, School of Computing, Electronics and Mathematics, Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Computing, Coventry University, UK. Since 2018 he is a Senior Lecturer in the same Institution. He is also a member of the Research Institute for Future Transport and Cities, Coventry University, UK. Additionally, since 2016 he has been a member of the “Centro de Investigação em Sistemas Electromecatrónicos” (CISE), Portugal. Finally, he is an IEEE member as well as member of the following societies: IEEE IAS and IEEE IES.
His research interests focus in the fault diagnosis, condition monitoring and degradation of electrical machines. He has authored/co-authored more than 70 papers in international scientific journals and conferences. He regularly serves as Technical Track/Special Session Chair in International Conferences. Moreover, he is a regular reviewer of papers for prestigious international scientific journals and conferences. Finally, Dr Gyftakis has been invited as an academic visitor by foreign institutions like Korea University, Seoul, South Korea, Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain and CISE|University of Beira Interior, Portugal.
